The Ministry of Fire Extinguishers supply a full range of portable fire extinguishers and ancillary products. All of the services we provide are to the highest standards as are the products we supply.
As members of F.E.T.A (the Fire Extinguishing Trades Association) you can be assured that you are receiving the best service and advice, from the purchase of the fire extinguishers through to annual maintenance.
With safety products such as fire extinguishers, regular maintenance is essential. British Standard Codes of Practice Bs5306 Part 3 states that your fire extinguishers must be serviced at least annually.

Foam Fire Extinguishers
Foam (AFFF - Aqueous film forming foam) is suitable for Class A and Class B fires (flammable liquids such as petrol, oil, solvents and paints).
- Foam branchpipe model for marine and industrial use.
- Spray models are ideal for mixed risks such as offices and shops.
- Spray nozzle incorporates a Registered Design ribbed grip for ease of use.
- Spray nozzle has passed the electrical conductivity test of BS EN3 so it can be specified for Class A and B fires in the proximity of live electrical equipment in accordance with BS 5306: Part 3: 1985.
- AFFF (Aqueous Film Forming Foam) provides "burnback" resistance - giving protection against re-ignition. Caution: Should not be used to cover direct electrical risks.

Wet Chemical Fire Extinguishers
The chemicals contained within the fire extinguisher react with the heat and the frying media creating a crust on the surface with a porridge like consistency (known as soaponification), which extinguishes the fire in just a few seconds (5 - 10). The extinguishant also permeates through the frying media and makes any chance of re-ignition impossible.
The Fire Extinguisher has a diffuser nozzle at the end of the lance reducing the discharge pressure so that a fine mist covers an area approximately 1.5m x 1.5m, which means it can be sprayed directly onto the surface of the fire without a flash back risk to the operator. At this point, the pan/fryer lid can be closed, heat turned off and operation of the business, using the rest of the range, can continue.
For an extinguisher with a rating of 75f, the maximum area for two extinguishers would be 0.4 square metres. The maximum area for one extinguisher would be 0.11 square metres.
After a cooling period (2 hours recommended) the pan/fryer can be cleaned out and if the fryer has not been damaged by the fire, refilled and put straight back to use. The frying media and extinguishant can be disposed of with normal waste.
- Class F Fire Extinguisher.
- Standard size of 27F - equivalent to a 27 litre test fire
